Law family from Stocking Pelham & Furneaux Pelham 1 Year, 4 Months ago

Hi from NSW, Australia
I stumbled across this message board while trying to do some research on my LAW ancestors, and am hoping someone out there is tracing the same family. I have bits and pieces of info dating back to the 1700s, and it includes data from Elmdon & Langley in Essex.
John Law marr Martha Knights in 1726 at Elmdon, Essex and had 7 children that I can find.
Of these, Daniel Law marr Ann Maydell in 1763 at Langley, Essex, and they had 7 known children all baptised at Langley.
Henry Law marr Elizabeth Eves in 1796 at Langley, and their third known child, James Law (my ggg grandfather) marr Ann Brace in 1826 at Albury, Herts. Except for their first child, their other children were all born at Stocking Pelham or Furneaux Pelham beteen 1831 & 1841.
Their son, Jonathan, aged 16 (my gg grandfather) and his brother Henry (already married) came to Australia in 1857 on the ship "Alfred".
Cheers

Hi Jillian
I have an Eliza Law on my tree who was born in Langley, Essex in about 1853. She married one of my Gt Grandfather's brothers David Freeman. They lived in Meesden, Hertfordshire and had 12 children. Eliza died in 1935 and is buried in Meesden Churchyard.
If it turns out that she is one of your Law's, let me know as I have a couple of photo's of her.
Regards
Lyndsey

Hi Lyndsey
After some digging and sorting of my notes, I have found that the common ancestor to your Eliza (nee Law) Freeman and my Jonathan Law (b. 1841) are Daniel Law & Ann Maydell, who I mentioned in my first post.
Eliza Law was a daughter, and first child, of Aron/Aaron Law & Jane Sell, and was baptised 24/12/1854 at Langley.
Apparently Aron's father, James Law, was married twice, first to Hannah Abrahams (Aron's mother), then she died and he remarried to Emma Sell, who was Jane Sell's sister. So Aron married his step-mother's sister, I think that is how it goes!!
Aron's grandfather, Jonathon Law (marr. Ann Halls at Langley in 1799) was a younger brother of my Jonathan's grandfather, Henry Law (marr. Elizabeth Eves at Langley in 1796).
If you want to reply off the message board, my email address is jillianmw@westnet.com.au
It would be lovely if you could perhaps scan and email me a copy of the photos you have of Eliza.
Regards Jillian
