Just Being Nosey 2 Years, 4 Months ago
I am just curious as I have been doing my family tree and I have found so many of my relatives come from Albury, The Pelhams, Standon, Little Munden and I am going back in some cases to the 1600's.

Are there many families that have always lived in the areas that I've mentioned through many many generations?

My family names are Okeman, Oakeman, Oakman,Morrell, Rist, Griffin, Fordham, Brown (note Brown didn't marry Mary Oakman), Collins, Lincoln (whoops no marriage again this time with another Mary Oakman), Brookes, Blakes, Wooton, Rule and many more besides these. Plus on many I have others where I have searched for their parents lines, Bayford, Nottage, Wood, Flack, Phipp, Rist, Matthews and again the list goes on.

It would be great to hear from anyone

Janette Oakman

Hi Janette. Just joined this message board. Greetings from Canada. Three of your names are on my geneology lists. Bayford, Nottage and Wooton. Can't give you much on the last two, but I have extensive info on the Bayfords back to 1630. Perhaps some of you people line up with ours. I'm married to a Bayford as well as being a descendent from another line. Hope I can help.

Hi Janette

I'm new to this site and have been reading through all the posts. I came across a Flack web site in the course of researching my Meesden Freeman's and Robinson's. Maybe you already know about it but if not......

I have Woottons on my tree they came from Furneaux Pelham. My first Wootton was Eleanor who married John Bradford in 1765, her parents were Oliver Wootton and Judith nee Bull

Hi Eunice

It seems we are related! My 5xGt. Grandmother was Rachel Wootton (b.abt.1752 Furneux Pelham) daughter of Oliver Wootton and Judith Bull. She married Ralph Bayford (b. abt. 1740 Little Hadham) in Furneux Pelham in 1772.

I have a Bradford in my tree also – Mary (b.1777 in Brent Pelham) married James Bayford (b.1779 Furneux Pelham) but I don’t have a date for that marriage.

Maybe we can help each other with our mutual Wootton’s?

Regards

Lyndsey

Hello,

I have just found this web site. I relise that the messages on this topic were posted over a year ago but hope you are still interested. Sarah Bayford married to John Knightley is my 3 Great Grandmother, I therefore have Bayfords, Woottons and Nottages also in my tree. I have several names and dates but as yet they all need checking with the Parish Registers which I hope to do shortly. I would be grateful if anyone has information on any of these families.
