I wonder if any readers to this message board can help me with information on the whereabouts of descendants of Captain Henry Neville Lake who used to reside in Tinkers Hill Farm in Furneaux Pelham?
I am currently doing some research into the naval career of my late grandfather, Allen Abraham Cornell who was a submariner in the twenties and thirties. My grandfather served on submarine L22 whose skipper was Captain Lake. I have a very good photograph of Captain Henry Neville Lake and some crew members, probably taken by my grandfather and would like to know more about it. Perhaps one of his family, in particular his grandchildren, might like a copy of the photo.
If anyone can help with this, I would be grateful. The period of naval submarine history between the First and Second World Wars is difficult to research, so I'm hoping that there is a descendant of the Lakes out there somewhere.
Thank you.
