Waymarking - the Pelhams 6 Years, 3 Months ago
I recently did a walk, anti-clockwise direction, from Furneux Pelham - Stocking Pelham - Brent Pelham - Furneux Pelham. First timne I had visited this area. There was no waymarking on the fields, until the very last stretch, from near Whitebarns Farm down to Furneux Pelham. The walk is for publication in a magazine. I will have to advise that anyone undertaking it will be liable to go astray - as I did - which means trespass until the path is relocated. I have long considered Hertfordshire to be one of the best waymarked counties, until I walked the Pelhams. Lovely countryside, though: churches at Furneux and Brent Pelhams and The Cock at Stocking Pelham the highlights for me.

The above letter seems to have had a dramatic effect. Waymarkers have suddenly sprung up all over Brent Pelham. I hope the arrows do not fade and become invisible as the last lot did. A lot of effort has also gone into removal of scrub from some footpaths not accsesible to tractor mowers. Hats off to the county council or the power of the internet?
