Rook
The Rook (Corvus frugilegus) has a bare, greyish-white face, thinner beak and peaked head make it distinguishable from the carrion crow.

Rooks are very sociable birds, and you are unlikely to see one on its own.  You will see them around the Church Tower in Furneux Pelham.

They feed and roost in flocks in winter, often together with Jackdaws. Turn up your computer speakers to hear the sound of a rook.
