Male Linnet
The Linnet (Carduelis cannabina) is a small, slim finch.  The male has a strikingly marked crimson forehead and breast, females much browner and spotty. It can be flighty and has an undulating flight, usually twittering as it flies. It's canary-like song meant it was once very popular as a cage bird.
