Crufts 2005

Anyone who lives in or around Furneux Pelham will have no doubt encountered Gemma and Sue Knight and their Flat Coated Retrievers.

This year at Crufts at the Nec, Birmingham we took along our dogs who had qualified at various shows around the country as far afield as Kelso in Scotland to Builth Wells in Wales and Bournemouth, our dogs love to travel!

We had a fairly successful day and managed to gain a 2nd prize from Veteran with Slipper at 11 years of age, this is a class she has won for the past two years running so age was obviously catching up with her!

Blossom won a 4th place in the Graduate class which is decided by how many wins they have attained in their showing career and Dayley gained a 5th place in the puppy class at the tender age of 9 months.

Other dogs that we had qualified but were sadly unplaced in very strong competition were Ferris, Joel and Tilly.

All the dogs had a fun day out being petted by the general public and love all the attention, as well as being able to show off in the ring!

The fun starts in trying to qualify them all again for next year!! With the introduction of pet passports who knows, we may qualify off British soil!!! I can hear the poor car sighing!
