| Pallet Yard Wins Appeal |

Planning representatives only from both Hertfordshire County Council and East Herts District Council attended a meeting to announce that the appeal made by the Pallet Yard, Barleycroft Works against Hertfordshire County Council’s refusal to grant a Lawful Development Certificate (LDC) was allowed. In other words the Pallet Yard can continue to operate. A large group of local villagers attended and were disappointed and frustrated at the decision. People voiced again their concerns about the inordinate amount of dust and noise created by the unit and the damage the gigantic lorries were doing to the verges of the narrow lanes. Villagers were encouraged to lobby their local MP (Oliver Heald) and continue to keep logs of times and dates of environmental concerns (such as dust and noise) to be passed on to the Environmental Health Dept at the County Council.
